BOE Innovation Partner Conference (BOE IPC) 2023

On June 28th, BOE Global Innovation Partner Conference (BOE IPC 2023) kicked off with the captivating theme “Screen IoT, Fusion Coexistence” at the prestigious Beijing Beiren Yichuang International Convention and Exhibition Center.

This year is BOE’s 6th IPC event, an annual gathering for global partners in the display industry. Coincidentally, This year is also BOE’s 30th anniversary. BOE invited technical experts, suppliers, customers, and partners around the world to celebrate together. The IPC exhibition showcased cutting-edge technologies and products from the entire ecosystem. Moreover, this year’s IPC is live-streamed online with the help of the world’s first 8K+5G ultra-high-definition broadcasting vehicle, providing viewers with a thrilling experience.

BOE has been promoting the concept of open collaboration for the healthy and sustainable growth of the entire display industry. BOE’s technologies and products have enabled and empowered numerous new scenarios. Guest speakers from Peking University, Qualcomm, Beijing Municipal Administration of Cultural Heritage, and China Industrial Internet Research Institute delivered keynote speeches and shared their forward-looking insights.

Chen Yanshun, Chairman of BOE, reviewed the history of BOE over the past 30 years and re-emphasized BOE’s strategy of “Displays Everywhere, Empowering IoT”. BOE strengthens our relationships with our partners by collaboratively innovating with them. Working with over 5,000 companies in the world, BOE has made significant progress in areas like smart cities, smart education, digital visual arts, and digital exhibition. BOE is committed to working with global partners to build an open, collaborative and innovative ecosystem.

Dr. Gao Wenbao, President of BOE, highlighted BOE’s transformation from a display supplier to an IoT innovator. In the future, BOE will focus on areas such as intelligent connected vehicles and industrial IoT, accelerating the integration of displays, sensors, artificial intelligence, and interconnectivity. As a technology company, BOE also pays significant attention to our social responsibilities, promoting the mutual development of the enterprise and society.

At the IPC exhibition, BOE showcased a series of cutting-edge innovations. For example, the 110-inch UB Cell display empowered by ADS Pro advanced display technology has ultra-wide viewing angle, ultra-low reflection, high contrast, high refresh rate, wide color gamut, and high brightness. With superb black state and high contrast under ambient light, it rivals OLED displays in terms of image quality. The world’s first 17-inch curved notebook OLED display attracted a lot of attention from the audience. The industry’s first bi-directional-foldable OLED display enabled three form factors: full screen, X-fold, and Y-fold. BOE also showcased the industry-leading 2000-nit high brightness OLED display, enabled by BOE’s LTPO and Tandem technologies. It can reduce energy consumption by over 20% and increase device lifespan by 3-4 times. BOE MLED demonstrated the world’s leading LTPS P0.5 COG (Chip on Glass) active-matrix direct-view LED display. Other notable demos include a 32-inch light-field 3D display, a 31.5-inch UHD 480Hz high-end gaming display, the world’s first 27-inch low-carbon-footprint display, the industry’s first ADS Pro display with switchable 300% color gamut, and the world’s first 1.3-inch 4K*4K micro-OLED display.

While pushing the boundaries for technological advantages, BOE actively promotes the concept of green manufacturing and implements green manufacturing projects to drive sustainable transformation. During this IPC conference, BOE released the report “Towards Carbon Neutrality: BOE Display’s Low-Carbon Plan.” In the report, BOE pledged to achieve operational carbon neutrality in the display business by 2050. As of 2022, BOE has already had 15 factories recognized as “National Green Factories.”

BOE’s partners like Honor, Hongqi, NIO, Aston Martin, Chery, and Xiaopeng, showcased their innovative technologies as well. For example, Skyworth launched the Q53 Wallpaper TV, featuring BOE’s pioneering HSR frequency-doubling technology. Honor Magic5 series fully adopts BOE’s 6.81-inch flexible OLED screen and debuts with LTPO and screen spotlighting technology, providing a low-power solution for extended battery life, enhanced performance, and ultimate eye protection. Corning exhibited innovative products such as glass-based smart antennas and glass-based diffusion plates.

NIO ES6 features BOE’s 12.8-inch flexible OLED display with a million-to-one contrast ratio and 100% wide color gamut.

Aion Hyper GT showcased the 14.6-inch oxide wide-screen display with in-cell touch provided by BOE.
Xiaopeng G6 is equipped with a 10.2-inch instrument cluster screen, a 14.96-inch central control screen. Nezha GT sports car features BOE’s 17.6-inch central control screen.

Since 2021, BOE has invested over $10 billion USD in research and development. BOE continues to drive high-quality technological innovation with a huge portfolio of patents. To date, BOE has accumulated over 80,000 patents, of which 28,000 are related to flexible OLED displays.
