BOE LTPO OLED Technology Empowers Honor Magic5 Series

On February 27, 2023, the Honor Magic5 series and Honor Magic Vs series were unveiled at MWC (Mobile World Congress). They are enabled by BOE’s industry-leading LTPO OLED display.

BOE has a longstanding involvement in the flexible OLED field and has accumulated over ten years of experience and more than 28,000 related patent applications. The Honor Magic5 Pro, part of the series, is equipped with BOE’s 6.81-inch flexible LTPO OLED screen. LTPO technology allows for a 1Hz-120Hz adaptive seven-frequency dynamic refresh mode, which can switch dynamically and intelligently to different refresh rates for various applications, reducing screen display power consumption while meeting the needs of multi-scene use, such as audio-visual entertainment. BOE’s innovative technology increases the screen’s luminous efficiency by nearly 10%.

BOE’s blue diamond pixel layout optimizes the underlying logical structure of the pixel display, and a touch sampling rate of 300Hz. The Honor Magic5 Pro has a touch sampling rate of 360Hz, with a peak brightness of 1800nits, making the screen content visible even under strong outdoor sunlight.

It is also worth mentioning that BOE’s proprietary blue diamond pixel layout can optimize the image quality of the display. with BOE’s ultra-high frequency PWM dimming mode of up to 2160Hz, the Honor Magic5 series can reduce potential eye damage caused by screen flicker in dark light environments. Combined with BOE’s flexible OLED low blue light technology, which reduces the proportion of harmful blue light generated by the screen, the Honor Magic5 series effectively protects consumers’ eye health.

BOE’s technology with independent intellectual property rights has been applied to mobile phones, tablets, and many other fields, providing highly innovative products and services to over 16 customer ecosystems worldwide. According to Omdia data, BOE’s flexible OLED shipments have been ranked first in China and second in the world for many years. The collaboration between BOE and Honor marks the 30th anniversary of BOE’s breakthrough in flexible OLED displays.
