In the fiercely competitive arena of display technology, BOE emerges not merely as a participant but as a leading display system manufacturer. With its groundbreaking ADS Pro technology, BOE is redefining what is possible in LCD display systems.
ADS Pro technology is BOE’s answer to the growing need for display systems with exceptional clarity, color accuracy, and viewing angles. As a display system manufacturer, BOE’s ADS Pro showcases the company’s ability to innovate and lead. It embodies the future of LCD display systems, offering benefits that are key to both commercial and consumer markets:
- Large format: 65″, 75″, 85″, 98″, 110″ and more
- High resolution: 4K (3840*2160), 8K (7680*4320) , 16K (15360*8640)
- High refresh rate: 120Hz, 144Hz, HSR 288Hz, Real 165Hz, Real 240Hz, up to 600Hz
- Wide viewing angle: near 180 degrees
- Anti-Glare and Anti-Reflection: AGLR, AG25, AG25LR surface treatment options
- Low carbon footprint: Less IC needed due to dual-gate and tri-gate design, Eco-friendly products with recycled materials
- Low power consumption: efficiency improved through higher LCD transmittance
- Wide color gamut: DCI-P3 99.5%
At SID Display Week 2023, BOE showcased an ADS Pro 110″ 16K display with cutting-edge metal oxide TFT backplane. Another ADS Pro display for laptop products achieved the world’s highest refresh rate of 600Hz. The ADS Pro enabled UB Cell display delivered stunning performance comparable to an OLED display but at a fraction of its cost.
As the LCD industry continues to expand, driven by innovation and growing demand, BOE has positioned itself as the leader of display system manufacturers. The commitment to excellence and innovation in display systems has cemented BOE’s status as a powerhouse in the industry.
ADS Pro vs. ADS
ADS Pro is an improved version of ADS technology developed by BOE. ADS Pro can support higher refresh rate than the regular ADS. ADS Pro displays also offer wider color gamut and higher contrast ratio. With higher transmittance, ADS Pro panels consume less power than regular ADS panels.
ADS Pro | ADS | |
Refresh rate | Up to 500Hz | Up to 144Hz |
Color gamut | DCI-P3 | sRGB |
Contrast ratio | 2000:1 | 1000:1 |
Blue light emission | Low | Medium |
Power consumption | Low | Medium |
ADS vs. IPS vs. VA
ADS and IPS are both LCD technologies that offer wide viewing angles and good color reproduction. They both work by aligning the liquid crystals horizontally. When an electric current is applied, the liquid crystals rotate, allowing light to pass through. The amount of light that passes through depends on the angle of rotation of the liquid crystals. The difference is, ADS uses a longitudinal electric field and transverse electric field to move the liquid crystals, while IPS uses only a transverse electric field.
VA is another LCD technology that works by aligning the liquid crystals vertically. It is typically slower than ADS and IPS because the liquid crystals take longer to rotate. However, VA offers higher contrast ratis.
ADS | IPS | VA | |
Response time | Fastest | Fast | Slow |
Contrast ratio | Low | Medium | High |
Viewing angle | Wide | Wide | Narrow |
Color reproduction | Great | Great | Good |
The ripple effect that can be seen on VA panels when touched, which is caused by the way that the liquid crystals in the display are aligned. When you touch the screen, you are disrupting the alignment of the liquid crystals, causing the image to become distorted. This distortion is what is perceived as the ripple effect, a minor drawback of VA panels.
The global LCD industry is characterized by intense competition among display system manufacturers. Major players from across the world vie for market share, each bringing its unique technology types and innovations to the table. As a visionary LCD manufacturer, BOE not only follows market trends but also sets them. BOE display systems are crafted with the future in mind. BOE’s global leadership is supported by its expansive portfolio of patents, state-of-the-art production facilities, and a relentless pursuit of innovation.
