BOE Lights Up World’s First Gen-8.6 LTPO OLED Production Line

On December 30, 2025, BOE announced a pivotal industry milestone with the successful early production test of the first display unit from its Gen 8.6 (2290x2620mm) OLED production line in Chengdu. The ceremony for the line’s first product occurred five months ahead of schedule, marking a rapid transition from construction to operational readiness. This line, representing a total investment of 63 billion Chinese yuan, is now China’s first and most significant industrial project of its kind. It is strategically designed to meet the growing global demand for premium OLED displays in mid-sized IT applications such as high-end laptops and tablets, with a planned monthly capacity of 32,000 glass substrates. The achievement follows a series of accelerated project milestones. In May 2025, the first major production equipment was installed four months
